The Al’ter E’go band is from Elkhart; the LP was released in 1985.  Members are connected to two other area bands.  Frank Cassella was the lead vocalist for Stencil Forest, while Craig Watson was the vocalist for Marshall Law.  Stan Swaim also played drums for Stencil Forest.  With Stencil Forest’s album Opening Act released in 1983 and the Marshall Law LP out in 1984, it is likely that Al’ter E’go followed after the breakup, or hiatus by those two bands.  Realtime Records released this LP as well as that of Stencil Forest.

As there are many artists using the name “Alter Ego” it is likely that the band attempted to separate themselves from the others by using accent marks to divide the words.
