The Conscious Effort Band, from Washington, Indiana released an LP in 1981 on their Factory Wave label, after recording at Bloomington’s Audio Village. This LP is a fine example of homegrown rock, with both psychedelic and country flavors. A number of “extras” in the recording session add depth with backing vocals and incidental instrumentation. Definitely sounds more early to mid 70’s than 1981; hints of new wave creep in yet it still recalls the laid back grooves of the Grateful Dead. This is the only documented release for Factory Wave and it does not appear band members are connected to recordings by other bands or artists. |
