Hometown: Greenwood and Franklin (Jim)
Bio: The Students began as the Eliminators with one member change. While the Eliminators were quite adept at the surf/hot rod sound, the Students were looking for a more sophisticated sound. The first of two 45’s (on the Rodger Ward label) showcased “Indiana Calling” which was chosen as the official record of the 1966 Indiana Sesquicentennial celebration backed with “I Couldn’t Help Falling”. The Students sophomore effort in 1967 (now on Rodger Ward’s Gold-Brik label) featured “The Letter Home” backed with a longer version of “I Couldn’t Help Falling”. The Students also left a four song acetate (1966) that includes two other unknown songs, “Puppy Love” and “House of Sound”.
