Wilson, Bryant and the Kentucky Ramblers
Hometown: Edinburgh, Indiana – born Columbia , KY | |
Bryant Wilson (April 1924 to December 1992) singer, songwriter, guitar and nearly a bluegrass legend. Bryant Wilson’s records display his deep affection for “Sacred Singing” and Bluegrass. A favorite on bluegrass festivals and show, Wilson and Bill Monroe often shared the stage and mutual respect. Wilson’s recorded output was a mix of Wilson leading the Kentucky Ramblers Quartet, or recording with family. After Wilson’s first 45 on the Comet label, he decided that he could record the band / family himself and fashioned a recording area in the home, and as a result many 45’s and an LP followed. Wilson was active on the Bluegrass circuit as late as 1990, when age and failing health caught up with him. |
