While Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows were an Illinois band, lead singer Nolan was born in Terre Haute. The band, originally formed in Carbondale, Illinois was quite active during the 1970’s and 1980’s, releasing several albums and appearing live regularly. They relocated to Chicago in 1978.
