The Boys Next Door were one of the most popular bands in the central Indiana area during the mid 60’s. They released several singles on smaller labels and were signed to Atco Records for three 45’s. Their sound was often compared to that of the Beach Boys; they played live regionally and opened for several major label acts. The band also used the alternate name The Four Wheels (imposed on them early in their career due to a contract with Mercury Records), issuing singles on Delaware Records and the Minneapolis indie Soma Records. Drummer Jim Koss’ younger brother John Koss was the drummer for the Last Four Digits, an early 80’s new wave band in Indianapolis. | |
