The Chosen Few formed in Muncie in 1966, releasing 45’s on the Denim label. Personnel changes were numerous during the band’s run. Members include the nucleus of the future Faith Band, including Carl Storie, John Cascella, Mark Cawley and Dave Bennett. Their lone LP, a self titled record on RCA, was released in 1969. As there are many bands–even in Indiana–with the name Chosen Few, they are often confused with other bands of the era. After being dropped by RCA, the band morphed into Limousine, which released an LP on the GSF label. That recording was picked up for reissue by Grand Funk Railroad producer Terry Knight’s emerging label, Brown Bag. Renamed Faith, remixed and with different track versions, promotional hype attempted to shroud in mystery who “Faith” was. Limited commercial success followed, until they became The Faith Band soon afterwards. Original lead singer Hadji Baba became the lead singer of The Ritual. |
