Despite collector interest in Cirkit‘s lone single from 1967, this Michigan City band has had little written about it. The 45, on Unicorn Records, “Yesterday We Laughed/I Was Wrong”, were originally packaged with a deluxe color picture sleeve, a rare occurrence for local band releases. Unicorn Records may have been the band’s own label, as no other releases are documented; the 45 was reportedly recorded at Universal Studios in Chicago. “Yesterday We Laughed”, featuring fuzz guitar and appealing vocals, has made multiple garage rock compilation appearances, including releases by Norton Records and Collectables. Particularly noteworthy to fans of Indiana music is its inclusion in the 1992 Hoosier Hotshots LP, the first collection of Indiana garage rock. The single was reproduced unofficially in 2008. |

Working on an official reissue of their only single and acetate, I wonder if some of you
saw them back in the days or have documents, newspaper articles, pictures, stories, live recordings about them? Thanks in advance Oktay (OKtay Records)

Congrats on this and a well deserved reissue. What’s your timetable? Thanks.
Bev, thanks for providing this info and for all the great work of Obidiah’s. Nice to clear up the mystery of the “new” Obidiah’s too.
