Don D. Sheets was a notable figure in the Indiana music scene who operated a recording studio in Brown County. His studio was located on Highway 135, approximately halfway between Bean Blossom and Nashville, Indiana. Sheets provided custom recording for high school bands, choirs, and local musicians. He was particularly well-known for his specialized work in producing commercial jingles, one of which earned a gold record that was displayed in his studio. In August 1964, he recorded a banjo and big band LP for the Delmarti label at Indiana University’s Alumni Hall, setting up his equipment directly on the hall floor. His wife, Marti Mae Sheets, was a frequent collaborator who overdubbed.
