A couple of my very first record purchases were at Pearson’s Platters in the Devington Shopping Center at Arlington and E. 46th Street, just down the way from Arlington High School. This would have been in the spring of 1976.
I bought the Sex Pistols lp there during their going out of biz sale. The owner was so pleasant, but didn’t like where music was going. We had a great conversation about all of that. From what I understand this was a very important east side shop.

Do you remember when they went out of business, Rick? I moved out of Indy in ’72. I always enjoyed going in and talking with Mrs. Pearson.
I’m not sure. I think 79 or 80 but that’s just a guess. Would be good to know when they first opened as well. Anyone know?
