Steve Allee has been a music force in and around Indianapolis since the early 1970’s as a jazz piano maestro. He has released solo albums and collaborated on others, notably with John Von Ohlen’s Baron Von Ohlen Quartet which released a well regarded album in the 1980’s. He has also served as musical director for the Bob & Tom Show. At 19, he was touring with Buddy Rich, and has since gone onto playing with many big names, including Slide Hampton, James Moody, Rufus Reid Quintet, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Phil Woods, and Curtis Fuller. He has also composed and created music for television and film. Steve’s big band CD, Downtown Blues, was nominated for a Grammy® award with bassist John Clayton and drummer John Von Ohlen. Steve is a music educator as well, and has served on the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music faculty.
