The Fireflys, aka Fire-flys, were from the Walton/Galveston area of Indiana. They released one 45 on Chicago’s Orlyn Records in 1966, “Stubborn Kind of Fellow/Take My Hand”. Follow the link on Orlyn to read more about this unusual label that recorded and released records by several Indiana garage era bands, including Try-Angle, The Apollos, and The Wild Ones. The Fireflys had a few personal changes in the late 1960’s, and continued to play live in the area for some years. At some point, the latter lineup added Dan Shank and Tom Myer to their lineup and adopted the name Axas, a band which was based in Logansport for several years. |
