Words of Wisdom – Truth Revue launched in the early 1970’s, led by Herman “Butch” Slaughter.  The band released just one single, “You Made Me Everything/Do You Understand Me Now” on Lamp Records in 1971, produced by Ricky Clark.  It appears the band continued until 1982.  This single has been reissued in 2021 by Cannonball Records in the UK.   

Those songs are also included in the landmark Lamp Records Indianapolis soul compilation by Now-Again Records, It Shone Like The Sun: The Story of Naptown’s Motown 1969-1972.  The original single is quite scarce.
